Rachael Ray receives humanitarian award

TV host, cookbook author, and dog food developer Rachael Ray has been awarded the North Shore Animal League America President’s Award for Humanitarian Excellence. The group chose Ray because of her commitment to animals and the no-kill campaign. Her website, Rachael’s Rescue, highlights organizations that are dedicated to helping animals. The award will be presented to her at the eighth annual Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon on June 3.


Rachael Ray launches charity pet food line

Pit Bull-loving celebrity chef Rachael Ray has launched her own line of dog food, called Nutrish for Pets, which features recipes based on her dog Isaboo’s favorite treats. Ray has also established a foundation, Rachael’s Rescue, to bring awareness to organizations that are dedicated to helping animals in need, and proceeds from the pet food will benefit this cause. Ray has long been a proponent of Pit Bulls, a breed that often gets a bad rap. So we give her a cheers and two thumbs up for using her power for good. Now, I wonder, does it only take 30 minutes to make a bag of Nutrish?
