Professional Pet Sitters Week is this week from March 1-7. This week is a time to recognize professional pet sitters for their dedication, hard work, and commitment.
Introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1995, the Professional Pet Sitters Week campaign seeks to educate guardians about the advantages of in-home pet care and encourages the public to explore professional pet sitting as a viable and rewarding career opportunity.
“Professional pet sitting has become a significant part of the pet care service industry in the past 15 years,” says Patti Moran, PSI’s president. “Many professional pet sitters put in long hours, seven days a week, 365 days a year, so they can provide personal in-home care for pets of all kinds.”
According to National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) when choosing a professional pet sitter, guardians should take in consideration whether the service provider has commercial liability insurance, references, and literature fully describing services and fees. NAPPS offers a free service through its website that helps pet parents find responsible sitters.
Be sure to thank your pet sitter for all their hard work this week.
