A few days ago we blogged about the uncertain fate of the 127 Pit Bulls seized in a North Carolina dog fighting raid in December.
We are saddened to hear the judge made a decision yesterday–all the dogs must be destroyed. Around 60 of the dogs are puppies.
A coalition of animal welfare groups has formed to protest the decision.
“Dogs should be judged as individuals,” says Ledy VanKavage, an attorney for Best Friends Animal Society. “Their adoptability should be judged on their behavior and not their breed.”
