Tails magazine presents...

The length he went for love

The word “cougar” comes up now and again in our discourse when we talk about love. Based on recent events, however, the moniker should be one we reserve for tenacity in the chase rather than just fierceness in the bedroom. Authorities have discovered that the cougar who recently turned up in Roscoe Village in Chicago had actually made his way all the way from North Dakota. The reason the lonesome cougar traveled such a distance? Love, of course, or mating, depending on your sensibilities. Yes, the Roscoe Village residents who eyed him near their local coffee shop probably had fear, red-lettered fear, on their mind, not love, at the sight of him. And that fear precipitously led to his doom, cornered and shot on a Chicago street. Now that’s a cougar worthy of his Juliet if I ever heard of one.
