This Sunday at 8 pm EST, be sure to tune into PBS (or set your DVR). The channel will be airing an episode of their Nature series titled, “Why We Love Cats and Dogs.”
The episode will examine the close relationship we have with our pets.
It will include a segment about—you guessed it—adoption! Specifically, the ASPCA’s Meet Your Match adoption program, which helps shelters find the best pet for each potential pet parent using a color-coded system.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this upcoming episode of the Nature series,” says ASPCA President & CEO Ed Sayres. “One of the greatest gifts we can receive in life is the unconditional love from a pet, and we are proud to be a part of this project which celebrates that unique bond.”
Be sure to check it out!

Come Monday, Dec. 8, be sure to check your newspaper’s comics section or visit MuttsComics.com. Mooch the cat and Earl the dog from Patrick McDonnell’s popular MUTTS comic strip are going to be discussing the Obama family’s impending adoption. Ever since President-elect Barack Obama assured his two daughters that they “have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House” in his victory speech, the nation has been consumed with finding the perfect pooch for them.
No matter your politics, I hope we can all agree that adoption is the best option. The adoption storyline of Mutts will run through Sat, Dec 13, so be sure to check it out!
